MiSight® is a daily disposable soft contact lens designed for myopia management in children. At Eye Rx - Stone Ridge, our myopia care focuses on slowing progression with clear guidance, careful measurements, and consistent follow-up.
What Is MiSight®?
MiSight® is a soft contact lens worn during the day and replaced daily. It provides clear vision while also supporting a myopia management strategy aimed at slowing progression over time.
Your child’s candidacy depends on age, prescription, eye health, and readiness for contact lens wear and care. Our eye doctor will explain whether MiSight® or another myopia option is the best fit for your child’s needs.
Who Is MiSight® For?
MiSight® may be considered for children with progressing myopia who are appropriate candidates for daily contact lens wear. It is often a good option for families looking for a daytime contact lens plan with a consistent routine and structured monitoring.
MiSight® may be a good fit for:
- Children whose myopia is increasing over time
- Families who prefer a daily disposable contact lens routine
- Active children who prefer not to rely on glasses during sports and activities
Why Choose Eye Rx — Stone Ridge for MiSight®?
Families choose our Aldie office because care is medically focused, calm, and guided by clear explanations. We take time to review what is changing, what options may help, and what follow-up looks like, so parents can make informed decisions without feeling rushed.
Dr. Jennifer Sun has a special interest in pediatric vision and myopia management and has extensive experience supporting families through long-term myopia care.
The MiSight® Fitting Process
A MiSight® evaluation begins with a myopia consultation that includes a detailed history, a medical eye health assessment, and measurements to guide recommendations. Our team reviews your child’s routine, comfort needs, and readiness for contact lenses.
If MiSight® is appropriate, we provide training for insertion, removal, and safe wear, along with clear guidance for hygiene and daily routines. Follow-up visits are scheduled to monitor vision, comfort, and progression.
First Lens Trial and Follow-Up
After training and an initial lens trial, we evaluate comfort and vision and confirm that your child is wearing the lenses correctly. Follow-up visits support long-term success by checking eye health and tracking changes over time as part of the myopia plan.
Living with MiSight®
Daily disposable lenses can simplify routines for many families, since a fresh lens is used each day. Success still depends on responsible wear habits and good hygiene. Our team provides practical guidance and ongoing support so your child can feel confident with the routine.
If discomfort, redness, or vision changes occur, call our office so we can guide next steps and adjust the plan when needed.
MiSight® is one myopia management option that may be discussed during a consultation. Some children may be better suited for orthokeratology, while others may prefer specialty contact lenses or myopia-control glasses such as Stellest® lenses. Our optometrist will explain the differences and recommend an approach based on your child’s measurements, eye health, and daily life.
