Dr. Jennifer Sun graduated from Pennsylvania College of Optometry with honors in 2009 and has been providing high quality, personalized eye care to patients of all ages in Northern Virginia ever since. Dr. Sun’s clinical training includes externships at the Boston VA hospital, the prestigious Capital Eye Consultants, See Clearly Vision and The Eye Institute’s pediatric department. Combined with years of clinical experience in private practice, she has gained extensive knowledge in managing complex ocular conditions and pediatric eye health. Her approach combines evidence-based care with a compassionate, patient-first mindset. Dr. Sun routinely co-mangages with local industry leading ophthalmologists for cataract, LASIK/PRK, keratoconus patients including pre and post surgical care. Over the years, she has also developed a special interest in myopia management and has treated thousands of kids in slowing down the progression of nearsightedness.
Continuity of care is very important to Dr. Sun. She believes that preventative care is just as important as managing existing conditions. This is done through state of art technology and highest level of knowledge available in eye care. In order to achieve these goals, Dr. Sun as decided to partner up with Eye Rx founder Dr. Ben Teller to open up her own private practice. There is special focus on medical eye care with emphasis on early detection of eye diseases, management of systemic health conditions and treatment of ocular diseases and infections.
A proud member of both the American Optometric Association and the Virginia optometric Association, Dr. Sun stays at the forefront of advances in vision science to ensure her patients receive the most effect treatment options available. She will continue to provide the highest levels of primary and medical eye care to the community. When she is not in clinical care, she can be found chauffeuring her two kids to their extracurricular activities and cheering very loudly and proudly on the sidelines.
